Dr. Steve Moses

Pastor Steve recently retired from the United States Navy after serving as a Navy Chaplain for 28 years. In his most recent assignment, he served as the Force Chaplain, Marine Forces Command at the headquarters in Norfolk, VA.
He was called to the ministry in 1984 and ordained to the ministry in 1988. Steve was commissioned as a U.S. Navy chaplain, endorsed by the North American Mission Board of the SBC in 1994, after serving six years as a Southern Baptist pastor in Fort Worth, Texas. He has served in the military for 37 years, including nine years while enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.
Chaplain Moses served six Navy tours of duty aboard ships, submarines, and installations and six Marine Corps tours, including a combat tour in Iraq. He has served as a pastor of six Chapels and the co-pastor of three Chapels on Navy and Marine Corps bases in the U.S. and overseas. He also served as the Commanding Officer of the Naval Chaplaincy School and Center in Columbia, South Carolina, and Newport, Rhode Island.
Steve holds a Master of Divinity in Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Theology from Trinity International University, and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary.
He is married to the former Joanne Kim of Staten Island, New York.
